What We Do
Chitown Tutoring provides STEM subject tutoring and comprehensive test preparation services, including ACT, SAT, AP, IB, High School Entrance Exams, GRE, GMAT, and GED. Our tutoring model is flexible, rigorous, and adaptable, offering both in-person and online instruction tailored to each student.
Our Academic Coaching Mission
Our academic coaching services are built around three core goals:

Tutor Responsibilities
Tutors are responsible for planning and delivering effective instruction, preparing students for exams, assisting with assignments, and creating academic schedules aligned with student goals. Tutors also provide guidance on academic and career opportunities, maintain professional communication, and follow attendance and scheduling policies.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have at least one year of teaching or tutoring experience, hold a minimum of an Associate’s degree (or two years of university education), and maintain a university GPA of 3.0 or higher. Tutors working in standardized test preparation must demonstrate top-percentile performance on relevant exams.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, are able to conduct both (in-person and online) sessions, reside in the Chicagoland area, and have reliable transportation for in-person tutoring.
Compensation
$30–$40 per hour
Compensation varies based on tutoring format, prior experience, and performance.
